Healing Day for Women and Gender Expansive People

Participate in guided discussions, visit restorative healing stations, and access vital resources designed for women and gender-expansive individuals directly impacted by the legal system. Experience a moving theatrical performance by Helen “Skip” Skipper, a 2024 Rikers Public Memory Project Narrative Change Fellow. This convening marks the closing of Torture Island: Past, Present, Future, an exhibition that confronts the history and ongoing realities of Rikers Island. Presented in collaboration with the Women’s Community Justice Association, this event welcomes all while centering the experiences and well-being of women and gender-expansive communities.
