Unearthing The Voices of Our Ancestors: A Virtual African-American Genealogy Series
Join us for an engaging and deeply personal journey through history with Nicka Sewell Smith, nationally recognized genealogist and storyteller, as she leads a series of virtual African American genealogy workshops. This unique series will guide participants through the process of researching their family histories, with a special emphasis on centering Black voices, narratives, and ancestral legacies.
Whether you’re just beginning or continuing your journey, this series offers the inspiration and knowledge to dig deeper into your roots—and strengthen the stories that shape us all.

Black Visionaries: Weeksville Then and Now
With great pride, we present the visionary work of Nona Hendryx, acclaimed as Weeksville’s 2025 Artist in Residence, and the esteemed Dream Machine Studio team, as they unveil the remarkable mural, “Black Visionaries: Weeksville Then and Now.”
“Black Visionaries: Weeksville Then and Now” stands as a transformative music-infused, mixed-reality masterpiece. It intricately weaves together themes such as Weeksville’s identity as an oasis, a beacon of Black self-determination, a hub of creativity, and a symbol of profound connection to the land.
Rest and Restore Yoga
We invite you to join us at our Rest and Restore yoga series led by Six of Sensate Wellness and take a moment for you! Open to all ages and skill levels, and no rsvp required. Simply show up and join us for a rejuvenating yoga experience. *Space is limited and offered on a first come-first served basis. Please note that doors close 10 minutes after the class begins, so do plan to arrive on time.
